Cross Section: Create boundary line segment subdivision points

Multiple boundary subdivision points can be placed at boundary line segment at once using this dialog. There are different ways how to define placement of the points.

SettingDescription
Type of subdivision points

One of two types can be chosen. Relative distance at boundary line segment begin is 0.0 and at boundary line segment end is 1.0. Absolute distance is similar: at boundary line segment begin is 0.0 and at boundary line segment end is equal to line segment length.

Point range

Line segment length is the distance between boundary line segment begin and end point. Subdivision points will be placed between first pivot point and last pivot point. Value for first pivot point can be also bigger than value for last pivot point. Changing pivot values automatically recalculates point step and number of points.

Point step

This is the relative or absolute distance between two subdivision points. Changing that value automatically recalculates number of points.

Number of points

This is the number of subdivision points generated. Changing that value automatically recalculates point step.

Ignore first and last pivot point

This flag is useful to use if subdivision points between boundary line segment begin and end point should be created. Every line segment already has read-only begin and end points and there is no reason to generate duplicates.

Arrange equidistantly

There may be reason to place subdivision points between relative distance 0.0 and 1.0 with step 0.15. If arrange equidistantly flag is turned on the value for step is corrected to 0.1667 to get equidistant arrangement. With turning off this flag the distance keeps 0.15 and last point will be generated at relative value 0.9.
